Halle teaches a volunteer yoga class to the teen farm staff at the Chicago Lights Urban Farm. The farm produces over 5,000 pounds of food on an area the size of a basketball court, and provides skilled job training to teens and young adults, as well as contributes to the local food system through their produce Farm Stand and the neighborhood food cart. (June 2019).

Halle facilitated Meditation and Philosophy Facilitator for Breathe for Change, a 200-hour yoga teacher training certification designed specifically for educators and mental health professionals. This training empowers its educators to be yoga teachers of asana, meditation, and philosophy, but also to bring social emotional learning and wellness techniques into their classrooms as vehicles for social change. Breathe for Change’s mission is to Change the World, One Teacher at a Time. It’s all smiles for this graduating class! (December 2019).

Halle volunteered with Pilot Light Chefs to help make their fundraising event a wild success. Here, she is teaching the all-levels, live DJ yoga class on the rooftop of Savage Smyth to 80+ participants, which was followed by a wine tasting, small bites from local chefs, and raffle prizes. All of the proceeds from this event went back to benefit the organization, which builds healthy food curriculum into more than 50 Chicago Public Schools. Halle was overjoyed to be a partner at this event (August 2018).

When Halle leads 200-hour yoga teacher trainings, she hopes to emphasizes the importance of yoga as service. Here, she takes trainees for a rainy afternoon of karma yoga with a volunteer project coordinated with the Director of Chicago Lights Urban Farm, Natasha (November 2017).

Halle Miroglotta organized and taught a rooftop yoga class at sunset to benefit local Chicago organization My Block, My Hood, My City. The event was generously supported with donations by Lululemon, Athleta, and RXBar (June 2017).

Halle Miroglotta assists a student during the MBMHMC benefit class. Yoga access is important, and this class was free to the community. All proceeds were donated in full to the support of the organization (June 2017).

Halle is invited to bring her workshop, Yoga for Depression/Yoga for Anxiety: Highlight on Sequencing, to Kohler on the Lake in Kohler, WI. During this weekend of workshops, Halle also guest lectured the Pre-Natal and Sanskrit sessions for Kohler on the Lake’s 200-hour Teacher Training and taught a two-hour Sivananda Yoga class (April 2017).

Participants at West Loop Spine and Stability break into groups during Halle’s original workshop Yoga for Depression/Yoga for Anxiety. The workshop utilizes the philosophical concept of the Gunas as well as Ayurveda’s principles of Langhana and Brahmana to make sequencing recommendations in order to balance one’s energetic state (August 2016).

Halle Miroglotta creates an experience during the Sanskrit lecture for Corepower Yoga’s Bucktown 2016 Teachers in Training. Her instrument is a harmonium, which is commonly used in kirtan and at satsungs. Halle is passionate about providing her students with a well rounded yogi-education extending beyond knowledge of the physical postures. The students here learn their first chant (Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo), and explore the wisdom of OM (June 2016).
